Commitment Ceremony

I know we have mentioned this before that on August 21st 1999 Andrew and I were united in the eyes of God and of our friends by the Rev Ray Richmond in a Commitment Ceremony at the Wayside Chapel Potts Point.

I want to say  something more about this. At the time that we did this, i think I have told you, Andrew’s divorce had just come through the previous month on July 16th and having his decree nisi he was able to make an honest commitment to another person.

He changed his name from Andrew Brewer to Andrew Jame Blair and so we have always presented as husband and wife ever since our Commitment service which has been an immense help to us in the days before it was quite legal to be transgender let alone to marry.

Andrew raided my external hard drive and took some old photos from there and so here are one or two more from that particular time.

The Rev Ray Richmond took a big chance in granting us our wish in a chapel of a main stream church and we are forever grateful to him.

I am a 67 year old female, retired. Our Church proclaims a miracle as just over two weeks ago my eyesight was restored as it was 26 years ago when I began to lose it due to the Adenoma mentioned on my WordPress. I get about in my Power Wheelchair and enjoy bush walking and photography. My blog site is managed by my husband - Br Andrew efo
