Today, the third Sunday in May the other members of the efo always, most always come down from the Mountains after Church To visit us and take lunch with us in the afternoon.
On our part we spent a busy day yesterday getting special foods ready for their coming and also attended the Woodturning Shed Where Andrew finished the 6th French knitting Spindle and a Doll from Poplar Wood.
Andrew was still up at 11.00pm last night peeling homemade beetroot preserves and had the Potato salad to finish this morning after We had attended church by Skype.
As technology has it, and just to show it is the child of our brains and not the other way about, Skype did not occur because Br Luke, in the Mountains in Springwood had left the portable modem at his sister’s home and so we received a call to the effect that we should celebrate for ourselves and could we please send him the Parish Pew Sheet since he had forgotten to print them.
Liturgies of the Eucharist were celebrated by my husband Br Andrew in Maroubra who preached on the Gospel of John 14:18-27, and by Br Luke in Springwood who apparently was stuck for printed matter and read the Pew Sheet from his phone.
I fetched the washing in at about 1.00pm when the weather appeared to be changing while Andrew frantically finished getting everything ready and finally cleaned the kitchen floor ,once we were sure nothing else dirty was going to walk, or roll over it.
It is difficult to get the washing off the hoist seated in a wheelchair so I just threw it into the basket without folding it as Andrew usually does.
Br Simeon has only recently returned from South Africa where he had been visiting his family, especially his aging mother and had much to talk about, during which Andrew fell asleep so a move was made to head for home at 3.30pm after which Andrew took a SCAN.
